OPANKA CONSTRUCTION
Meticulous attention to detail—combined with fresh, innovative styles—is what Børn is all about. And Opanka hand-sewn construction forms the comfortable foundation for our distinctive designs.
Our special technique hand sews the upper, sock lining and outsole together in a single process. Not only does this method make Børn shoes extremely flexible, it also creates a natural cushioning effect. As a result, the under foot conforms and rebounds with every movement, providing a consistently comfortable environment.
Most of our shoes are made with traditional Opanka construction. However as Børn has evolved over the years we have enhanced and expanded the Opanka construction. All of our constructions are based on Opanka, which is our heritage.

Select Børn styles feature DRYZ® moisture-managing footbeds. The technology's unique components work together as a "total comfort" system, preventing moisture and heat build-up—the two primary causes of odor-causing bacteria and an unhealthy environment inside your shoes.
