Where Are Børn Shoes Made?
Børn shoes are manufactured in factories in China, Vietnam and Mexico. Country of origin is indicated on product packaging and printed on the inside upper of each shoe.

Why Are Børn Shoes so Comfortable?
Each pair is hand-crafted to create cushion and flexibility. In addition, our shoes are constructed with high quality outsoles, usually made of rubber or polyurethane. These materials are light-weight and have shock-absorbing properties. Lastly, each pair of Børn shoes has added layers of padding throughout the footbed and is constructed with high-quality sock linings that surround the foot in comfort.

Where Are the Materials Sourced?
Børn uses the highest quality leathers, suede, nubuck and other materials sourced from vendors throughout the world. Our leathers are finished to give a particular look. Many of these techniques are hand finished, therefore look variations are normal and evidence of the uniqueness of every pair.

Can Børn Shoes Be Re-Soled?
Because Børn shoes are constructed via a hand-crafted technique, the entire shoe is held together primarily through stitch work. Attempting to remove or replace the sole will disrupt the overall integrity of the shoe construction. Additionally, prolonged exposure to extreme hot or cold conditions will affect the composition of the outsole and they may be prone to splitting after prolonged use and wear.

What Is Veg Leather?
Veg leather is tanned using tannin and other ingredients found in vegetable matter, such as tree bark prepared in bark mills and other similar sources. In some instances chemicals are used to modify the color of the leather.

Do You Make Vegan Shoes?
We use real cowhide leather in the vast majority of our footwear; therefore our shoes are not vegan. Occasionally, we will feature styles with fabric uppers, however, leather may be used in the lining of the shoe.

Do You Make Size 5, 15, Etc?
The standard size run for Børn women’s shoes is 6M-10M, 11M (whole sizes only for sandals). Men’s standard size run is 8M-12M, 13M, 14M (whole sizes only for sandals). Occasionally, extended or special sizes will be manufactured for specific styles.

Where Can I Find the Clothing on Your Models?

Are Børn Shoes Waterproof?
Børn shoes are not waterproof. Our hand-crafted techniques create small holes in the outsole of the shoe where the upper is stitched to the outsole. We do not suggest wearing Børn shoes in conditions where the shoe will be submerged in water.

How Should I Care for My Børn Shoes?
Full-grain or veg leather styles: Clean with a soft damp cloth. To maintain, apply neutral leather cream and buff with a soft clean cloth. Some shoe care products may darken or discolor the leather. Be sure to test any products on a small area prior to applying to the entire shoe.

Suede and nubuck styles: Wipe with a damp cloth to remove surface dirt. Use a suede brush and crepe bar to rub out stains and marks. You may want to treat the material with a protective suede spray immediately after purchase. Some shoe care products may darken or discolor the leather. Be sure to test any products on a small area prior to applying to the entire shoe.
